About the Council

The Council for the Human Future  (CHF) was set up to raise global  awareness of the growing existential emergency, comprising  ten catastrophic risks, which now face humanity. We are a not-for-profit international body established by concerned scientists and citizens to widen awareness and help devise solutions.

Our Mission

1. Inform, educate, advise

Alert global society to the catastrophic threats that together comprise an existential emergency facing all humanity

2. Solve risks

Help to identify and develop cross-cutting solutions to catastrophic risks that make none of them worse.

3. Create Opportunities

Identify opportunities for sustainable economic and social progress and human equity arising from the solutions.

4. Focus policy

Focus the minds of policymakers on the urgency of agreeing on a universal plan for humanity to survive and thrive into the future.

5. Share knowledge

Share trusted knowledge on the benefits of solving the human existential emergency.
